How To Begin a School- College Reunion Community

By Preetu Misra Driving down memory lane, you often feel like rewinding the time machine to go back to relive those golden years of your life once more. Yes we are talking about your days in school and college, when fun and friends ruled your mind. Bunking classes, teasing friends and playing pranks on your professors had been so much fun. These little things leave behind such a deep impression that it is difficult to forget them for the rest of our lives. As time passes, our priorities change and we tend to move further away from those happy days. The memories gradually fade and we cant help but feel nostalgic and helpless in our present situations. If you wish to stay connected and enjoy your fun days always, having Re-unions are the best way to re-unite with old friends. An institute re-union will not only help you recall all those memories that have gone lost somewhere in the hustle bustle of our lives, but will also help you reunite with so many of your friends and catch up with the lost days. Reunions provide you with an opportunity to revive old friendships and re-live those days you always cherished. Just in case your alma mater does not have a re-union community, but you are keen to reunite with your buddies, just dont wait anymore. Make the first move, and create your institutions reunion community. Here are a few steps that shall guide you while you move ahead with your plan. There are few things that will help you initialize your basic community building structure. It is very obvious that you cannot build a community alone. Youve got to collect people, who are as enthusiastic as you are, keen and earnest and will provide a helping hand, while you build your alumni community. So your first plan of action is to gather a handful of enthusiastic Batchmates who share the same feeling and the will to create a community of your own. To begin with, arrange for an informal session with as many friends you are connected with. Invite them over on a convenient day for a small chitchat session and break open your idea to them. Discuss your plan with them and ask for their suggestions and help. Ones a set of people start taking interest in your plan, consider your first job accomplished. It is probable that four out of ten of your friends may just walkout considering that this will never work out, but dont lose hope, continue with as many people who are willing to support. Your second step is to spread the word across to as many people as possible. Ask your friends to put across the idea to others who are from the same institution and might spread the news to their friends. Creating a chain this way will help the message to spread across. And for any community to become successful, publicity and promotion play the key roles. If you share a good rapport with authorities at your institution, you can ask them to assist you in whichever way possible. Even if they can support your mission by publishing the news on the newspapers on your behalf, it is going to be of great help to your mission. In case you are not too confident about your plan and wish to take advice from others, try contacting a professional reunion planning specialist groups. They shall guide you the right way, right from the planning stage up to the execution level. Set your first reunion date. Make sure to keep a vast time span in hand from the day you start planning your reunion to the day you wish to reunite. A span of six months to one-year is a good time. All said and done, one major aspect is yet to be addressed, and thats. finance. Be prepared that you might have to initially invest from your own pocket at many places. You can later on keep a subscription for all those who are going to attend the reunion party. Another good idea would be to take ad aids from local businessmen and organizations that would be willing to sponsor prizes and awards at the event. Go ahead with your plans, and aim it to be a success. Because at the end of it all, a smile on your friends face, the joy of reunion and the happiness of reliving the past will be worth all the effort.
